Cast and Crew
With the idea of cast you want to make sure you fit with the correct stereotypes otherwise your movie will simply not sell. With our trailer we thought especially hard on who was going to be what, we finally constructed a finalised cast list and why. With the vampires we decided it to be myself and Chloe because of our conventional brown/black hair and our matte pale skin, where as on the other hand we decided to have Kirsty as the female who undoubtedly lures men for us. We also needed to find a 'good looking' male victim for our trailer, we decided to use Sam as our victim because of his masculinity and willingness. Ultimately, like I said without the correct procedures when casting our character it can seriously hinder a films income and profit.
On the more technical side, as in crew, we were able to think more freely about these decision simply because we are all able to incorporate ideas and work with different softwares. None of us in our group is unable to create a timeline or edit a photo on photo shop (basically), which for us as Media students is a massive advantage for our specialities, due to this we were able to be more relaxed with each other and allowed us to become a more group based team, instead of individuality. However, their were prominent roles within our group, so for example - I did most of the editing whereas Kirsty structured the scenes and used proxemics to film the frame. Me and Chloe also filmed when necessary. Mostly however me and Chloe were the main characters and in a way trusted Kirsty with the shots looking professional and having the correct effect, which was no problem as we 100% believed in her.
In the videos below, you'll see ourselves talk about our roles in the group and trailer.
