What to avoid when filming.
Our group has thoroughly researched what to avoid when filming in order to prevent us making these mistakes in our horror trailer. We first looked at previous A level trailers to horrors which made these specific mistakes. This was purposely shown to allow us to acknowledge mistakes made to make sure that we avoided them. The mistakes are essential to know when making any trailer, as they can make a huge negative impact on the opening and is most likely to effect the grade that we are aiming for.
Shooting during the day is only to be avoided when filming outside or somewhere with a window. However, our modern day technology is capable of dimming the lighting for a more sinister effect, however it is not fully capable of making it look like evening. Although, our group chose to film in doors and take a decent time making the set look more effective. We discussed as a group that the set is essential as it broadens the motif of the horror sequence.
The overly long shot can easily fail to engage the audience. It can also make them loose interest almost immediately, and doesn't look professional. By exploring with a range of different shots help to conclude the theme of a horror.

Preliminary Task
We chosen to explore how to do a preliminary task in order to practice avoiding continuity and to learn how to use a shot reverse shot effectively.
The prelimerary task required you to produce a short film sequence, in which one character opens a door, walks across the room and sit facing another person. They have to exchange atlast two sentances.
The principles-
Shot reverse shot when they are speaking.
The camera moves from one person to another without crossing the 'imaginary' line between them also referred to as the '180 degrees rule'. The camera switches between two characters also known as a 'match on action'.
Showing the characters in an everyday situation (fiction narritive). The representation must be achieved by a range of elements: Dialogue, location and props etc.
Construct the micro elements.

By editing our Preliminary task, allows us to have a more professional approach to the task. By exploring final cut express made us feel more comfortable when we next encounter with it. It allowed us improve our knowledge of this application as if we didn't we probably would have struggled with the initial idea of how we wanted to edit our video.

When filming there are many things that you need to avoided. See above for more.
1- Do not leave the section in when the camera person speaks.
2- Do not let the person nearly walk out of shot.
3- Do not get the continuity wrong. Make sure it flows.
